Gone Shopping

I had a little extra in my account recently, so I went looking for some items I had needed.  Of my 4 purchases 2 of them were from Artfire studios.  This first item was an item I really needed but was waiting to find a good deal.  I needed a good pair of scissors, the pair I have been using was a cheap pair and they were giving out.  Well, I found these Singer professional sewing scissors and a small pair of singer craft scissors. They are wonderful, and I like that they are pink (I didn't go looking for  pink scissors).  They cut beautifully and with such ease. I found this deal on ebay and it was for 4 pairs of new in the package singer scissors.  I'm not sure yet what I will do with the extra 2 pair.
I also finally invested in professional labels for my handmade purses and some other handmade items.  I was so excited to finally receive them, and they were just what I wanted.  I had them made at  RememberWynn on Artfire.  She took the time to make sure they were exactly what I wanted and when they were she had them made and sent to me so quickly.  I would recommend RememberWynn highly.
Aren't they COOL, I love them.  I would like to say, if anyone that has a handmade purse of mine would like me to sew the label into it I will add it for free, you pay to ship to me and I will pay to ship it back.
I needed a beading supply for a project I was working on for my mom. I went looking and I found  what I needed at VintiqueJewelrySupplies on Artfire I also found these 2 items that I knew would one day end up on one or more of my purses.
The last item I got this week was a postal scale, this little item will sure make sending packages so much easier.  No more taking them to the post office to have them weighed.  I am so looking forward to my next sale so that I can use it.
Well, I'm off to sew, enjoy your day.

Adding Vintage

This last week I made a decision that I have been contemplating the last month.  Should I add the handmade artifact to my shop and keep my vintage book shop seperate but basic or combine my iluvbooks vintage books to my handmade shop which is a Pro shop and have the benefits of a Pro shop for all my items. I decided on the 2nd one.  So, I have been transferring my vintage books and patterns to my kathisewnsew shop.   Here are some of the books that have been added

And coming soon

Well, I'm off to go for a walk with my daughter. Have a wonderful day.

5 things I like about selling on Artfire

I have been selling on Artfire for over a year and a half now, and it is such an amazing place to sell handmade items.  I took my shop Pro last year and I can't imagine ever going back.  Here are 5 of the things that make selling on Artfire such a wonderful experience for me.
1. The categories, I love that I can have as many as I want, well up to 99, but I find that to be more than sufficient, I can change them around, reword them what ever I feel works for my shop.  I find it makes it a more enjoyable shopping experience for the shopper to be able to see a list of what type of items my shop carries. So anything that helps my customer is a big plus for me.
2. The Artfire kiosk, I like that I can have an extension of my shop on facebook.
3. The help guides, they are so amazing, you can find the answer to most questions right there, There is also the 45 day success guide, that will help guide you through so much information that will help you become successful at selling.
4. I love that I can personalize my shop to fit my needs and personality.
5. The variety of seller tools available is amazing, let me tell you about a few of them.  The global editor sure makes short work of editing multiple items, the rapid cart makes adding my items to my blog so that my customers can buy my handmade items right there if they choose, the sales mode makes it so easy to start, change, and stop the sale, what a time saver one last tool is the check in button, and that it says I checked in and when, I think that makes the customer feel like someone pays attention to this shop.
These are but a few of the wonderful things you can use to sell handmade, vintage, supplies, fine art, design & media on Artfire. So come on give it a try, sign up for your own Artfire studio with my Artfire referral and get your third month free.

new clutch purse in progress

I stumbled upon some new fabric last week, it looks like a soft leather but its fabric.  I knew that I was going to start a new purse from this fabric.  I decided to make a clutch purse similar to this,

This little beauty was recently sold from my kathisewnsew handmade boutique, and is on its way to its new owner.  I always get nervous between the time I send it and the time they receive it, what if they don't like it, what if it gets lost in the mail, I don't know why I do this because I have not had a bad experience.  I love this bag, I think its unique, interesting, pretty, and something no one else will have.  I've never been the type of person that followed what others do.  I really think this is why I started making purses for myself & I know there must be others out there that like to be there own person also.

Well, back to the new purse, its this style, but different colors.  So here is a sneak peek of whats to come.

This is the slow time consuming process, attaching and reinforcing the cord.  I do this stitching all by hand with heavy duty thread.  Its kinda funny but I love the hand sewing part, its a relaxing thing for me.

Well, my dishes are screaming at me so I'm off to do dishes and clean house, then hopefully do some more work on this purse.
