Is it really almost Halloween, wow this year has gone by fast. I'm sure my we will be watching scary movies and passing out candy to the trick or treaters. Here is a Halloween collection I put together, enjoy.
I've been working on a new bag lately. Its big, soft and purple, I think I will have to make another one for myself for when I go on vacation at the end of the year. I'm working on the shell right now and its coming out wonderful. I went and found some pretty cotton fabric that matches just perfect. I've added some special details on the sides, a little fringe and vintage glass buttons. Can't wait to show this one.
Well gotta go, lots of work to do today.

The Bat Mobile
I made this bat mobile for a family members birthday recently. Halloween is her favorite holiday, and her house is all decorated for the holiday. She loves the bat mobile, I can't wait to see where she hangs it.
For this project I made 8 bats out of ultra suede fabric I hand embroidered and hand sewed each bat. I added a jump ring to the top of each bat to hang them. I then made a bigger bat with its wings folded in hanging upside down from the cross bars, this bat was also hand sewn and hand embroidered. I used a heavy upholstery thread for hanging it from the top to the 4 cross bars and for hanging the 8 little bats. To add a bit of sparkle I used swarovski crystal beads and some nice vintage beads. I had so much fun making this mobile, maybe I should make a couple of these mobiles to sell in my shop kathisewnsew's handmade & vintage boutique.
This project started because I had to make a trip to San Francisco and I just have to have a project to work on while we drive. So I started sewing bats from my newest batch of fabric I had just received while we drove. Those bats became bat hair clips from my artfire shop. From that I had the idea for the birthday gift I was making. Here are the bat hair clips.
Enjoy your day.

Black Brown and Tan ~ Artfire Collections
I love browsing the shops on Artfire, so much talent, lovely vintage finds, unique and one of a kind items, gift ideas galore. One of the ways to browse is to look at the collections, these are a group of 12 items all tied together with a theme. It could be a collection of items from the artist or shop owners own studio items, it could be a holiday theme, maybe by color, maybe gifts for her/him.
Here is a collection I put together with a color theme
This one I put together with a flower and colorful theme:

Here is a link to the artfire collections, see what treasure you will find :)
