Ozzy Bell

Here is the daily view of the apron for mom.  Its coming along,  I'm happy with the bottom half the top part still needs a bit of tweaking.  Thats our cat Ozzy Bell looking out the back door.  Weve had her for about 6 or 7 years.  We got her from my grandpa just before he moved to Hawaii.  When we got Ozzy Bell her name was Ocean, My sons named her, Matt picked Ozzy (after Ozzy Osborne) Daniel picked Bell (because she wore a bell and tinker bell) and with that we have Ozzy Bell.

As you can see its a bit foggy this morning.  Mom, don't worry it will be ready for you here on sausage day.  Need to list some more jewelry, I have a couple of green Swarovski crystal beaded necklaces, they would look great together.  They look very festive.

Aren't they pretty.  Got a very busy day ahead.  Cleaning, shopping, organizing, and listing.

Apron Redo

I've decided that I need to redo the apron, its not looking the way I had hoped.  I've got some ideas of what I want to do.  I'm going to shorten (just a little) and round that pointy edge (don't like how that looks).  Oh, my new iron came yesterday yeaaaa.  I need to make sure it works today.  I got a great deal on it, and its brand new.  I bought a new Oreck iron.  I liked how the last one(thanks mom) worked so well, I had to get another one.

Here is the progress of your apron I'm trying to decide  between these 2 options.
A ~ This one the two squares match, and the top piece folds down for contrast.

 

 B ~ This one the two squares are opposite and the folded over piece matches the bottom.

 

 

I hope you like how its coming out.  Remember it will be reversible.  There will be light blue trim, and maybe a little yellow or pink trim, not sure about that yet.  I'm thinking that the side and neck straps will be the blue with little flowers fabric.  

This apron is my moms birthday present (sorry its late mom).  I enjoy making gifts for my family. 

I listed more jewelry in my artfire studio yesterday and hopefully I will be able to add a few more today.

ArtFire banner ?????

I've been working on my artfire banner for December. Unfortunatly I ended up with 4 and now I can't decide which one.

 

So, which do you like?  

Ok, so I sold another pair of earrings.  I sold the pumpkin earrings.  YEAAA, finally.  I sold them on ebay.  I meant to list some purses on ebay on sunday and didn't get to it.  I'll make sure to get some purses prept to be listed this coming sunday.  I like to list on sunday because the closer to the end of the auction the more often it gets shown on the front pages that come up. so what that means is that it ends on sunday and I'm assuming that more people look on the weekend so more people will end up getting to see my work.  At least thats what I think. blah blah blah.  

Well, 11 days till sausage stuffing day.  I think I am going to get all the things done that I had hoped.  I shampooed the carpet over the weekend, and that was the biggee I had on my list.  I've been rearranging my living room and dining room, and I'm kinda liking how I have it.  But after sausage day I have to move it again, because I want my Christmas tree next to the stairs and right now my couch is there.  I'm so looking forward to everyone coming.  The only thing that I am dreading is my dog.  When we have people over she turns into one of those yippee dogs.  You know the kind that wont shut up.  Oh well, what can I say about that, it is what it is. Well, I have to go and get to work, you know  sweeping, mopping, and washing windows.  I'm tired already.

I have moved my computer to a spot where when I look up from my moniter I have a large window.  I really like that I moved it here. I was concerned that the morning rising sun would bother me, but it doesn't.  Its a rainy morning, I love rainy days at home.  Feels like a soup day.

This is the sewing machine that I make all my purses and other sewn items.  It is a 1951 Singer, its one of there century anniversary machines.  They don't make them to last like they used too.  It still sews beautifully, nice even stitches.  I love this machine.  I am going to start sewing moms apron, should have some pics of it up tomorrow.

new project

I have started a new apron for my mom.  It is going to be a reversable apron.  I have choose cotton fabrics in blues, since moms favorite color is blue.  I will document the process of putting it together over the next week.  The pattern I used is in my own head.  This one I'm hoping will have a diamond shape.  The top piece of the diamond shape will fold over and the contrasting fabric will show.  at least thats what is in my head with this one.  Every handmade item starts out as an idea in my head.

Oh, and one more thing

I just bought an iron off of ebay, good deal, so that means I'm back to sewing.  I'm so excited, I miss it when I can't sew.

Beauty ... Handmade Beaded Jewelry ... kathisewnsew

This is the first set I'm working on.  Took pics (may need a few more).  This first group is divided into 4 pieces to list which include 6 pieces of jewelry. 

This first one is g17a ~ 

This necklace is such a beauty, gold tone beads multi color glass bead assortment.  It is 20 in. long.

Next one g17b ~

This necklace is 19 in. long, its a triple strand beauty.  I used burgundy swarovski crystal beads, mop, garnet beads, and I scattered a few butterflies amongst these lovely beads.
This next one is g17c ~

This beauty is filled with clear & light lavender swarovski crystal beads, I made the light lavender snowflake, I made this with double stand and scalloped this necklace. It is 19 1/2 in. long.
This next one is a 3 piece set g17d ~

I put these 3 pieces together because I thought they looked nice together. It includes 2 necklaces and a pair of earrings. I used swarovski crystal AB beads, glass beads & silver toned beads. necklace 1 is 19 1/2 in. long and has a clear heart pendant, necklace 2 is 18 1/2 in. long, and the earrings are 2 in. long.
I Call this group Beauty.

Handmade Beaded Jewelry by kathisewnsew

Years ago I wanted to fix one of my moms necklaces, it was missing a few turquoise beads.  I went on the hunt for some, now there were no bead supply place around where I live.  I found a very nice place to buy beads and supplies.  It started small I bought a few beads made a few pieces, and I was hooked. Over the next year I bought pretty beads and made lovely jewelry.  I gave away many pieces as gifts, sold a few. And this is most of what I have.  The pieces I have listed on artfire right now are not in this.  So as we see I have a lot of beaded jewelry.

Earrings, Earrings, Earrings ...

... I love earrings ... but ... I can't wear them.  I'm allergic. My ears swell up whenever I try.  So, I do the next best thing I make them.
This first pair would be mine if I could wear them.

They are made with clear swarovski crystal beads and silver toned beads.  They could go with anything from jeans & a t shirt to a nice dress. None of these earrings in this post have been listed yet, hopefully soon.

 

 

 

 

 

I found a new way to take these pictures, and they seem to have come out much better. I need to come up with names for these earrings. What a nice day this has turned out to be.

Organization ...

Sewing stuff, beading things, reading material, fabric (oh yea, that goes with sewing stuff), Sequin (my maniquin), all of these need to be in the upstairs area of the house.  the kitchen, dining room, and the living room ARE the upstairs area of the house.  And I am not an organized person. I have 31 days to get my upstairs organized & decorated for the holidays.  I will do it, but there will be meltdowns.

 

I listed a couple pair of Halloween Pumpkin Earrings on ebay yesterday.  I don't understand why they don't get the amount of looks as my Candy Corn Earrings.  I am offering free Halloween camo ghost jewelry bags with any jewelry purchase this month on either ebay or artfire.

Make it interesting ....

... Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.  Lets start off with I'M NOT A WRITER.  I would love to be able to write something interesting.  Sometimes I just feel sooooooooooooo boring.  I Love to sew, and thats what I'm good at.  I get so excited when I get an idea, I just can't stop thinking about it untill I put it together.  Thats how it was when I got the idea to make the Halloween jewelry bags.

 

I just listed these on ebay yesterday.  These jewelry bags were my latest idea I had.  To give my customers a small thank you from me.  I so love doing this.  I get so carried away sometimes, I forget to do other things I need to do.
