Kathisewnsew is my online identity and the brand of my purses, totes & accessories. This idea of making and selling something I created online started near the end of 2009. The idea of the handmade bags started after I made myself my own tote bag. As I was making it I started adding, taking away and turning it into my perfect little tote bag and making it better than the pattern I had been using. I was given several large boxes filled with so much fabric and patterns and items for sewing, that I started practicing and making my own patterns and tweaking them until they were just right. I knew at that time that this was what I wanted to do. Next thing to work on was where & how online selling worked. I studied and searched and read until I had a basic plan put together. My decision was to start selling on ebay. I started a notebook and took notes and read and I just couldn't figure it out, my next thought was that I needed some kind of ebay for dummies book. I went on the hunt and after finding several books on the subject I picked the one that I thought would help me. The book I choose was absolute beginner's guide to ebay. I started reading and studying, I picked my name, I learned how to edit pictures, how to add pictures to the listing, what to add in my description. The first week of my listings and I made my first sale, I sold one of my totes (at what I now know was priced way to low) even though I didn't make anything on the first one I was still excited because one of my creations was out in the real world with someone carrying it around with them. I slowly and steadily learned, adapted and decided to move onto my own little online shop. I looked around and decided on Artfire, I love my shop there and I hope you will too.
