Candy canes & Christmas trees ...

... we made it through another one, it just seems that it comes quicker and quicker each year.
I have been contemplating starting a little shop of my bags and beads at etsy.com. I've opened my account there and trying to decide what exactly I want there and what I want at artfire.com.  But, very recently I found out that artfire is going to let there basic acct. shops have unlimited items now (it use to be 12 items).  That was the biggest reason I was going to add a place at etsy.  During the holidays artfire let all the basic acct. holders have unlimited amount of listing.  I wish I could afford to be a verified member of artfire but until I start selling more I just can't.  I really like artfire and I am glad that I found them, there are many reasons I like selling there but one of the important things for me right now is the cost. I like that artfire has no listing fees & no final value fee, it lets me feel that the money I make (no matter how small right now) for my work is mine.  So now I need to decide whether or not to go forward with my plan to start an etsy shop.

These are a couple of pics of what I am working on right now.  This is my hubby's quilt I'm making for him, the top piece is about 1/2 way done, and yes it is going diagonal that was the plan.  I bought the fishing fabric on ebay from a nice person and I got a great deal (I'm always looking for deals).  I just didn't know what exactly I was going to make until earlier this month. He seems to really like it.  My plan is to have it finished by the middle of January, so that its still cold enough to use it.  I will post pictures when I'm done.

Twas the night before Christmas ...

and all through the house was frantic things trying to be close to finished.  I don't know how I do it but it seems to be a habit of mine to get myself over my head.  I am working on a project for my hubby and I don't think I'm going to be even 1/2 way done. So, because of that this is going to be short.  Merry Christmas to my family near and far I hope you and your families have a wonderful Christmas.  Make many memories.

Oh, by the way I sold a purse yesterday, It is the colorful kitties wristlet (Its a very cute bag).

FIFTY

I thought I had already written about my birthday this year, maybe I started too, and changed my mind and deleated it (I do that sometimes) .  Well this is my 50th post here, in this odd world of the internet so I'll start with the fact that I (kathisewnsew) turned fifty very recently.
I have been listening to Christmas music, watching Christmas movies, so I think for now I'm going to make Swedish sugar cookies (family tradition), I have had themevery year since I was little & can't imagine Christmas without them.  I'll post some pics of them.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS

Have you ever gotten annoying phone calls?

Ok, I hate these calls that are nothing but time robbers, you know the ones I'm talking about.  Either you won something or you requested something (even though you didn't), they want to help you (yea, outta your credit card #), I just don't get how some people bye into it. I wont give them anymore of my time without taking some of there's. So.........................................................................................(this is me thinking should I even write this) this is what I started doing today.  The first time was accidental but it was GREAT,  the woman asks for X (I'll leave names out of it)
I said: who? (I had trouble understanding her)
annoying phone person a:is X there?
I said: well..pause..hmmmm...ummmm I don't know
annoying phone person a: you don't know (she sounded puzzled)
I said: well...pause...you see..hmm..pause.. I keep getting these annoying phone calls and you see I thought I would annoy you for a few moments. good-bye. And I hung up.
about a 1/2 hour later I got another one very similar to the last one and I did the same thing.  It was so great to waste some of there time. and if I get any more I'll do it again.

Ok. I'm done ranting about that.

Reuse & Renew

I love this bag, I am surprised to still have it.  I thought when I listed it for the first time before July of this year that it would be gone before 4th of July.  Thats ok, I am sure it will be gone  by the next 4 of July or it will go into MY box of purses and totes.  I love this print so much because it reminds me of  a grandmother I had.  I like the fact that I reused a pair of tan denim jeans that still had some life even though they had lost their style.  I am going on the lookout for some pretty printed canvas fabric at a super duper low price.  When I do I am going to make reusable shopping bags.  I plan on doing it first because I want to start using them myself and second because I think people may buy them.  And that is why I need to find a great price, the better the price I get the better the price I offer my bags for.  I always put at least 2 pockets in my bags, and I will carry this on with the grocery totes (maybe).
Today is going to be a weird day for me.  Today is the last day of not being 50.  I am really surprised how much this has bothered me.  40 didn't bother me, 30 didn't bother me, but 50 has.  I spent the day off and on crying at everything and anything that went through my mind, this is not normal for me.  I'm hoping I wont have a day like that today.  I am going to make this a great day to remember, game night and chinese food  with the fam.   Memories being made, it will be fun fun fun.

I've been inspired ...

Here is just a peak of what my new project is.  I think its going to turn out pretty cool.

Beautiful Morning

I wish I could paint.  I would paint sky views, sunsets, sunrises, storms, clear days, cloudy days.  I love the colors in nature, nothing can compare.  I sat at my computer this morning watching the sunrise and all I can think is beautiful.  It will be a lovely day.
6 days and counting.
